BIO

James Griffin III is an Author,Speaker, and Health Advocate. He was born in Milwaukee Wisconisn on March 28, 1981. At the age of two he was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. Since being diagnosed he has fought hard to stay healthy and not let his health stop him from achieving his goals in life. In July of 2010 he moved from Milwaukee Wisconsin to Phoenix Arizona. In Phoenix, he decided he wanted to make a hugh impact in other peoples lives who live with sickle cell. Soon after he got involved with different sickle cell organizations, support groups, and online health advocacy groups.

 

In October of 2013 he wrote an article for an online health blog opening up about his health for the very first time. After high praise and many positive responses about the article from readers online he was inspired to write a book that would empower others who live with sickle cell. Two years later on April 7, 2015 James accomplished his goal of writing a book and released his first book, a personal memoir entitled, Breaking Silence: Living With Sickle Cell Anemia.

 

 

News and Events

September 16, 2015 James attended the Sickle Cell Awareness Month Celebration at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona. He also held his first official book signing there from 2-4pm.

 

May 7, 2015 James was invited to be a guest speaker at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona. He was also on hand as Doctors unveiled a new sickle cell clinic that will be opening early next year.

 

April 7, 2015 James released the highly anticipated book entitled Breaking Silence:Living With Sickle Cell Anemia.
